Betrayed by the person he trusted most, Brand, formerly Mark McGuinness of Earth, has been enslaved and given to a DokkAlfar Wytch, Elan'fer'sha. Trapped deep within the heart of the Great Citadel of Gor'achen, he is thrown into a gladiatorial stable and marked to be the new Champion for the stable.
In the gladiatorial stable of Elan'fer'sha, Brand meets a mysterious human Smith, with Power far beyond anything he has ever seen used before. Given no alternative by the Smith, Brand forms a compact with Elan'fer'sha. Somewhere within Gor'achen lie partial answers in Brand's quest for vengeance. If he can truly become Gor'achen's Champion, he may open a road to the Wytch's future.
While learning from the Smith, Brand works with and against Elan'fer'sha, as he tries to move farther along the Path to Power. Will Brand achieve his goals or will he fall in the blood drenched arenas of a DokkAlfar empire?

The Path of Transcendence series is set with the multiverse of the world called Taereun. Over time, I plan to develop this world with multiplebooks and series that use the same setting and magic system.
The current Taereun novels are:
1) Ultimatum of the Nameless God
2) Slave Pits of the Tyrannical God

Good read.
By Amazon Customer
Pros: Story is on point, as-well-as the action. There is plenty of mature content involved, just as it was in the first book.
Cons: This series can be even more awesome if an editor or proofreader was involved in the process.

You get butt sex! You get butt sex! Everybody gets butt sex!

Needs three things to be perfect. 1. More Possessed. The interaction between Brand/Talon and the others from Earth was a big part of what I liked about the first book. This one sets the stage for direct conflict with the Nameless God, and by extension the Possessed, so only a little miffed. Brand rubs his strength in a few faces, sure, but I want him to take a dump on everyone who ever looked at him funny. 2. More facerolling. I (don't) hate pulling a Veruca Salt, but I want Brand to be able to kill everyone and everything NOW. Screw training. Screw plot. Screw world building. Screw the Ogre. Screw the Svartalfar. Chop off every head in sight without breaking a sweat. Or don't. Whatever. 3. More Perzey. She is/was/is the best character ever. All that crazy...just magical.
This one is all about the build up. Some people will find it a little stretched out on places, but I didn't mind. It's just that the book takes place in small area compared to the first. Staying in one place helps flesh out the background, at least.
Overall, I liked it a lot. Only one real flashback, some world building, Mungo, it's pretty great. Plus, I've never seen the word "catamite" used so much.

Good to see the second book out
By Sean
Good to see the second book out. For those that were following the serial, they should start at the beginning. Looks like additional material added which helps flesh it out and provide more depth to the characters and world.
