About the Author
Sri Swami Rama, the founder of the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy, was raised in the Himalayan cave monasteries and ordained a monk in early childhood. He studied Western psychology, philosophy, and medicine in Europe and taught in Japan before coming to the United States in 1969. Here he founded the Himalayan Institute to create a bridge between the ancient teachings of the East and the modern scientific approaches of the West.

This book should be on the bookshelf of every spiritual aspirant. It is written by one of India's greatest Yogis, one who is revered by millions across the world. Yet, Swami Rama was always humble. He used to say "Swami Rama is very small; he is a nobody!" And when I would be in awe of spiritual powers, he would pay no attention. Yet, his eyes would say "You should not be in awe of the trivial. All these powers flow from control and training of the mind but do not represent true spiritual attainment." He was a true spiritual Master. One needs to read the book to see that. Through this book, Swamiji guides me with a steady hand as I face life's many challenges.

There is somethin' goin' on over there. The miraculous does still occur.

There is something goin' on over there in India way beyond anything happening in the West. After China India is the oldest extant culture in the world today. Perhaps it takes that much time to evolve that level of consciousness. This book is a superlative examination of the extraordinary feats some yogis can achieve. Swami Rama died in the 1980's and he was classically educated so his perceptions are more modern than some of the other "adepts" that write on the subjects in this book.
This book is credable,thought provoking and if nothing else entertaining. Read it.

Incredible Stories of Advanced Yogis

Exceptional account of the teachings and traditions of Himalayan masters. Gives a first hand account of Swami Rama's spiritual development as he travels to the remote regions of the mountains, learning from various sages and masters. Stories that will challenge your perception of reality and expand your understanding of ancient spiritual practices. I've read other spiritual accounts, but this one blew my mind. Incredible.
